Teams & Workspaces

Invite people to your workspace, give them a role, switch between workspaces, and leave one.

Teams & Workspaces

A workspace is where your applications, API keys, providers, templates and billing live. People sign in to the Sendrin console with their own account and act in a workspace with the role they were given there.

Roles

RoleWhat it can do
Workspace AdminEverything in the workspace: applications, API keys, providers, events, templates (including publishing), notifications, audit logs, members and billing.
Application AdminManage applications, API keys, providers, events and template drafts; view notifications and delivery activity.
Template PublisherEdit and publish templates.
Template EditorEdit template drafts and events. Cannot publish.
Operations OperatorView notifications and delivery activity, and retry failed messages.
Operations ViewerRead-only access to notifications and delivery activity.
AuditorView the audit trail, notifications and delivery activity.

Every member can see the workspace's plan and usage. Only a Workspace Admin can buy credits, change the plan, or see invoices and credit activity.

Invite someone

  1. Open Team and choose Invite teammate. Only Workspace Admins can invite.
  2. Enter the person's email address and pick a role. Each member and each pending invitation uses a seat on your plan.
  3. Sendrin emails a one-time link. It works only for that address, is valid for 7 days, and can be revoked or resent from Pending invitations.

The invitation page tells the person which workspace and role they are joining. They sign in with the address the invitation was sent to; if they have no Sendrin account yet, one is created with only that workspace.

Belong to more than one workspace

When Sendrin has turned this on for your account, someone who already has a Sendrin account can accept an invitation with that same account. The new workspace is added; they keep the ones they have.

  • Use the Workspace menu at the top of the console to pick another workspace, then choose Switch.
  • Each browser tab remembers its own workspace, so two tabs can show two workspaces side by side.
  • Your role can differ per workspace (for example, Workspace Admin in one and Auditor in another).

Leave a workspace

Choose Leave next to the workspace menu and confirm. You can leave a workspace only if you belong to another one, so you are never left with none. The last Workspace Admin cannot leave: make someone else a Workspace Admin first. An admin can invite you back later.

If you are removed

An admin can remove a member at any time. They lose access to that workspace on their next request. If it was their only workspace, what happens next depends on whether multiple workspaces are turned on for your account. If they are, the person gets a new, separate workspace (on a free trial) the next time they sign in. If they are not, they cannot sign in until an admin invites them again. Either way they are not given the old workspace back.

API keys are not affected

API keys belong to an application in a workspace and keep working exactly as before. Switching workspaces, leaving or being removed changes what a person can do in the console, not what an application key can send.
